October is the month Chantro learned about time. Here is what is new.
Timesheets
One clock for a person, on web and phone. Start on a project or a task, switch to another without a gap, take lunch as its own clock, stop, and undo within a short window. Hours and minutes only, no seconds. You can also add time later, with where it lands shown before you save.
Forms, including the one on your clipboard
Companies build their own timesheet forms, with sections, tables, checklists, photos and signatures. Or upload your paper timesheet and Chantro drafts the form from it. A person checks the draft and publishes it. Nothing publishes itself.
Approvals, pay periods and labor cost
- Days are submitted, then approved or sent back with a note. Each flagged day shows its reason.
- Pay periods close, export and reopen, with a history. Payroll goes out as a CSV.
- Each project's Labor tab shows hours and cost against a labor budget.
Chantro is not a payroll processor, and the CSV is generic: there is no direct feed into other payroll or accounting systems.
The phone Time tab
The phone app has a Time tab. Start, switch, take lunch and stop from your tasks or a project card. It works without signal: each press is saved on the phone first and sent in order with the moment it was pressed. Anything refused is listed with a reason. Presses older than seven days are entered by hand. Notifications are in-app only for now.
The new website
You are looking at it. The site now has a page for each part of the product, product clips recorded from a demo company, and this blog. We will post here when something ships.
